Provo Canyon Behavioral Hospital (PCBH) is an 80-bed facility, serving the Adolescent, Adult, and Detox/Rehab population and is located in Orem, Utah. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Director (HRD) is responsible for executing Human Resource activities at the facility for all functional areas, (e.g., recruitment, employee relations, compensation, compliance, etc.) and serves as a professional resource for facility management on all HR–related activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs all human resources activities for the facility.
- Responsible for full cycle recruitment: research positions, full understanding of the Facility’s staffing needs, sourcing for candidates, leveraging the ATS, interviewing, selection, negotiating employment offers, assisting with new employee orientation, etc.).
- Maintains and collaborates with management on position control in accordance with Facility budget.
- Knowledgeable of the HRIS systems and data input requirements and report writing.
- Manages employee relations and retention programs including the onboarding program for the Behavioral Health facilities.
- Maintains all Human Resources files to ensure regulatory compliance (including files for non-employed staff and other contractors).
- Develops, implements, and revises Human Resources policies and procedures in accordance with state, federal, and corporate standards and ensures consistency in administration.
- Monitors compensation planning program and wage and hour compliance.
- Supports facility HR strategic planning and budgeting.
- Oversees employee engagement activities.
- Complies with and administers the Corporate absence management process (e.g., FMLA, LOA, etc.).
- Identifies and oversees training needs for staff (e.g., regulatory, leadership, etc.).
- Conducts internal investigations and makes appropriate recommendations as needed.
- Partners with Corporate Legal in responding to employment litigation and/or external complaints.
- Advises with Facility management and consults with Corporate HR Operations on sensitive corrective actions, PI Plans, terminations, position restructures, reductions-in-force and other performance issues.
- Coordinates employee/staff development and annual mandatory training, including maintaining all job specific and on-going competencies required by Facility policy, and other regulatory agencies.
- Serves as a change agent for Service Excellence initiatives/culture.
- Supervises the staff of the Human Resources Department.
- Implements corporate initiatives (e.g., BH START, ATS, m3, etc.).
- Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.
- Responds to insurance and unemployment compensation correspondence and employment verifications.
- Participates in activities which enhance professional growth and development.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree highly preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of professional Human Resources experience, 3 years management experience required, and 5 years of healthcare experience preferred.
- PHR, SPHR or GPHR certification preferred.
