Departmental Overview
As the authoritative resource and chief advocate for graduate education, the Graduate Division ensures the equitable administration of policies governing graduate studies across Berkeley's 14 schools and colleges. As the administrative arm of the Academic Senate's Graduate Council, we partner with the faculty and staff of each program and the deans of each school and college to maintain the world-renowned quality of Berkeley's graduate education.
As a central service center for the entire campus, the Graduate Division works to guide and assist students from the moment of admission, through the various milestones of their progress, to the completion of their degree requirements. We provide academic, non-academic, and professional support services that are vital to the everyday well-being and life-long successes of Berkeley master's, professional, and doctoral students.

Responsibilities
Oversee adjudication of graduate academic misconduct cases across campus. Independently consult on suspected cases, analyze incoming cases, and advise faculty on policy, options, resources, and next steps. Identify and collaborate on necessary communication, tools, and strategies to support fair and consistent adjudication of graduate academic misconduct cases across campus, including the development of training videos and websites with frequently asked questions, and other resources. Plan, develop, implement, and oversee strategies, initiatives, and programs to prevent instances of academic misconduct. Develop rubrics for measuring their success and modify them as needed. Identify and collaborate with offices across campus whose work intersects with graduate academic conduct (e.g., Center for Student Conduct, Restorative Justice Center). Ensure appropriate record-keeping in accordance with relevant policies (e.g., FERPA). Engage with students, faculty, and staff to understand climates in varying disciplines and programs across campus. Develop programs, strategies, practices, and resources that promote and enable departmental climates that support student success. Identify and develop resources to support communication and accountability between graduate students and faculty, including support in engaging in difficult conversations; fostering productive and mutually beneficial advising relationships; conflict resolution resources and processes. Identify resources and best practices for recognizing and supporting students in distress and other duties as assigned. Act as backup Graduate Division rep on the Students of Concern Committee.
Required Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of common organizational- or research-specific and other computer application programs. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to communicate clearly, cogently, and with great sensitivity and tact with students, faculty, and staff, both verbally and in writing. Superior skills in analyzing, researching, and synthesizing complex policy and relevant data for review of allegations of academic misconduct. Superior problem-solving skills. Advanced organizational and project management skills. Demonstrated ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality. Demonstrated political acumen. Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Thorough knowledge of organizational or initiative processes, protocols, and procedures. Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Education/Training:
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Preferred Qualifications
Education/Training:
Advanced degree in a related area and/or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and training. Training and/or experience in restorative justice.

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $82,400.00 - $99,650.00.
This is a 100% full-time (40 hours per week), career position that is eligible for full UC benefits. This position is exempt and paid monthly.
