Job Description Summary
The Institute for Translational Medicine and Therapeutics (ITMAT) supports research at the interface of basic and clinical research focusing on developing new and safer therapeutics. ITMAT is at the forefront of US and global academic institutions, developing and implementing world class innovative educational programs designed to facilitate training of clinical and translational scientists and research support staff.
The Assistant Director of ITMAT Education Programs is responsible for all academic and operational aspects of the regulatory education programs. Currently these programs include the Master of Regulatory Affairs, the certificate in Regulatory Affairs, and a new certificate program in Clinical Research Nursing. Working with the ITMAT Education faculty and staff, the Assistant Director independently manages the development, maintenance, and administration of the curricula through the analyses of course and program evaluations and curriculum review. The Assistant Director is also responsible for managing the Admissions and Curriculum Committees. The Assistant Director executes new initiatives, including expanded recruitment methods, dual-degree development, career and professional development seminars and support, and new curricular concentrations. The Assistant Director will have experience in managing online programs, technical experience as an instructional designer, and bring new ideas and approaches to cultivate an online community amongst students. The Assistant Director will support the development of online education and training for all ITMAT Education degree and non-degree programs. The Assistant Director will play a critical role by providing both pedagogy and technology expertise support to faculty that enhances the teaching and learning experience. The Assistant Director will supervise the Instructional Designer.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 3 years to 5 years of relevant experience in program development and implementation or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Master's degree preferred.
- Expertise in online teaching and learning, and experience in the development of an online student community
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with sound decision-making and personal initiative to administer and advance the regulation education programs.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with strict attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and responsibilities, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the overall academic and operational aspects of the Master of Regulatory Affairs degree, Regulatory Affairs certificate, and Clinical Research Nursing Certificate programs. Lead the development, maintenance, and administration of all programs, processes, and curricula through the analyses of course and program evaluations and curriculum review. Oversee the admissions process. Support the Regulatory Education Curriculum and Admissions Committees.
Partner with instructors to develop effective online teaching strategies including but not limited to: the use of educational technology tools, interactive assessments, media based content, and online meeting platforms.
Execute new initiatives including dual-degree development, career and professional development seminars, and new curricular concentrations.
Serve as advisor to students for all program needs: Track student progress, advise students, maintain student records, and generate term audits.
Supervise the Instructional Designer.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Targeted Pay Range: $61,000- $65,000
This Targeted Pay Range is only applicable to this job posting. All salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
