We provide insulation services nationwide through TruTeam®, which has approximately 230 branches across the United States , and through Specialty Distribution which sells and distributes insulation and other building products from over 165 branches in the United States and 18 branches in Canada. TopBuild’s corporate headquarters is located in Daytona Beach, FL.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
The Director of Accounting is responsible for financial accounting functions, including close, internal reporting process and internal controls.

• Manage financial accounting functions, including general ledger and accounts reconciliations.
• Continuously improve close process to leverage automation tools and analytics to make sure close is as efficient as possible
• Plan, organize and coordinate the close and financial statement reporting process with operational finance team, internal and external auditors.
• Support operations through analytics and data analysis
• Resolve technical accounting issues through detailed research of authoritative literature and interpretive guidance
• Design, implement and maintain appropriate policies and procedures to enable accurate and timely financial reporting, which is compliant with US GAAP, SEC and other regulatory requirements.
• Monitor key internal controls to ensure compliance with the organization's policies and procedures.
• Lead accounting integration for acquisitions into both Oracle and existing TopBuild accounting functions.
• Recruit, hire, lead, train, coach and develop a talented Accounting team
• Coordinates with cross-functional departments (i.e., Treasury, Operations, Tax, AR, Sales, etc.) to remove process roadblocks to ensure effective close practices.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in accounting for public companies
• CPA/Public accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Willingness to travel approximately 15%
• Experience in building materials distribution or construction industry
• Leadership experience leading a team of 25+ reports
• Focused on continuous improvement, experience implementing technical solutions
• Advanced accounting, finance and GAAP knowledge
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Persuasive know when to be “soft” and when to be “stern”, understands audience and willing to take an unpopular stand.
• Escalate issues at appropriate times, know when to “raise the flag”
• Microsoft Office, Outlook
