We are looking for a proven manufacturing and fulfillment expert who can lead multiple sites to enable TaylorMade to expand its leadership in the golf industry. Come join our growing team!
The Director of North America (NAM) Manufacturing & Fulfillment will be responsible for leading all NAM Operations related to order processing, manufacturing and fulfillment. The leader will oversee three manufacturing and fulfillment centers throughout the region ensuring on-time delivery, and quality and costs are maintained. This person will focus on network optimization and fulfillment innovation as s/he will lead the effort towards automation and improved processes. Additionally, the Director will be responsible for creating and maintaining a culture which aligns with the organization’s mission and values.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities
- Oversees the network design, management, and continuous improvement of all North American fulfillment centers (FC), which includes locations in Evansville, IN, Carlsbad, CA and Tijuana, Mexico
- Responsible for the development and execution of cost controls, productivity improvement, lean and best practice application throughout the NAM region
- Manage facility P&L’s, including monthly reforecasts, to deliver against Annual Operating Plan; expertly represent facility financials to other stakeholders via review with Finance and Operations
- Create and implement best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve business performance
- Lead, inspire, develop and manage a highly functional team to perform at the highest level and support business needs
- Ensure that manufacturing strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets
- Through the leadership of teams, manage overall company metrics associated with the facility and tied to headquarters strategy deployment
- Ensure cross-functional stakeholder alignment on assembly vision and expectations in conjunction with R&D, Engineering, Product Development, and Sports Marketing
- Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities
- Own the manufacturing policy, guidelines and any associated documents
- Provide high-volume and custom consumer product manufacturing and engineering oversight
- Partner with third-party labor provider to support seasonal demand and quality
- Develop and implement engineering and production strategies to continue producing high-quality products
- Take the lead to resolve issues and elevate larger issues to extended management team as necessary
- Foster culture of continuous improvement and operational efficiency
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Ability to lead large groups of personnel over diverse backgrounds
- Ability to play a leadership role in a cross-functional team environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, effectively hold others accountable, and manage conflict
- Demonstrated ability to effectively present data/proposals to various levels of Management
- Expert level understanding and practical application of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
- Experience and understanding of ERP and manufacturing systems
- Extensive experience in data and reporting management
Education, Training, Professional Certification and Work Experience
- Bachelors degree in relevant area strongly preferred (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree)
- 10+ years of related experience in manufacturing and/or fulfillment roles, with 7+ years in a leadership capacity
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing large teams
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
- Office and factory/warehouse environments, with heavy phone and computer use
- Ability to work extended hours as needed, including weekends
- Frequent travel within the United States and Mexico; occasional travel outside of North America
- Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials
- Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach
TaylorMade is a performance driven organization and our total rewards approach to compensation is designed to support this. We consider many factors in determining base compensation, including position scope, job related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location. The expected annual base pay range for this position is $160,000-$185,000. Additional benefits, such as health & wellness, performance bonuses, product discounts, holidays, paid time off, etc. may also be offered in accordance with our plans.
