Position Purpose:

Are you looking for a role that does not fit the mold of a traditional HR Business Partner, yet requires all the skills of one? If the answer is ‘yes’, then we have your dream job. We are seeking a Human Resources generalist to become the Director of Member HR & Talent Solutions to join the Talent, Equity & Learning Solutions team at the 4A’s. In this unique role, you will not be responsible for an employee base, nor will you be responsible for managing internal HR matters. Rather, in this pivotal role for the 4A’s you will be consulting and advising our 600+ members on all aspects of the talent lifecycle, HR generalist functions, processes, benefits and legal policies. Your job will be to guide them through their human resources and talent needs with expert guidance and support.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultative support to members across the entire talent lifecycle - talent planning, role scoping, recruiting, onboarding, career pathing, training and mentorship, ongoing coaching and feedback, calibration and compensation, retention and mobility and off-boarding. Critically, your role will be to help guide members to ensure they are able to accomplish their objectives with greater confidence and consistency and pursue even more ambitious goals.
  • Be the go-to trusted resource for members as it relates to their relationship with the 4A’s regarding HR and Talent support.
  • Guide members as they make decisions that will impact their people.
  • Provide strategic thought leadership to both members and the 4A’s through thought leadership papers and guidance.
  • Proactively assess opportunities for the 4A’s to deepen the relationship with members through the 4A’s services including but not limited to:
    • 4A’s Learning Institute
    • Diversity access and development
    • Partnership opportunities
  • Lead Regional HR Committees, with support from regional 4A's Member Engagement & Development representatives to foster community and engagement in and outside of meetings.
    • Set up and manage committee meetings, develop agendas, identify speakers- when appropriate - and share relevant learnings, resources and content from across the 4A's.
  • Partner with EVP Talent, Equity & Learning Solutions to manage and coordinate the national Chief Talent & People Officer Committee.
  • Partner with the 4A’s Member Engagement & Development and Business Intelligence & Insight teams to support communication of 4A’s activities related to HR and respond to member queries; provide perspective on 4A’s surveys and input into development of surveys.
  • Provide support to members on HR policies, benefits, practices and employment law.
  • Play an active role in the collection and compiling of members’ employee handbooks, policies, job descriptions and translate findings to share across membership.
  • Relevant work experience and qualifications.
  • 7+ years of relevant HR/Talent experience, in a generalist, people function within the advertising or marketing communications industry.
  • Willingness and ability to be hands-on with all levels of an organization as well as serve as a strategic partner to leaders.
  • Proven track record of as a trusted partner and impacting teams and leaders.
  • Collaborator and team-player - an inclusive mindset and ability to build great relationships at all levels of organizations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with experience using data to identify insights and trends that drive action and exercises solid judgment.
  • Strong consulting, and coaching skills.
  • Demonstrates project management and change management experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, an eye for detail, and the desire to get in the weeds to get things done.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:
    • HR Certification and, or equivalent HR experience
    • Consulting skills
    • Project Management skills
    • Service Orientation
