Seeking a caring, reliable, energetic and self-directed person to serve as a Support Service Professional (SSP) and peer mentor assisting a 29 year old young woman to participate in community, educational, recreational and social activities and to strengthen daily living skills at home. The ideal candidate is familiar with providing quality care for individuals with disabilities; teaching, mentoring, assisting and modeling life skills.

This young woman is social, funny-loving and kind. She enjoys playing Wii, board and card games, watching and playing sports, spending time with friends, and participating in local activities.

· Candidates need experience working with people with developmental disabilities and are comfortable working with iPhone apps for communication or willing to learn.

Part time flexible hours, schedule TBD based on availability and need. Approximately 4 hours per shift at a mutually agreed upon time each week. Looking at the following options: Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and Saturday and Sunday daytime hours. Must be available for two of the shifts.

Other desired qualifications include:

• Understanding of, and ability to apply the values of empowerment and collaboration.
• Must have a reliable car and driver’s license, meeting all state minimum safety, registration and insurance requirements.
• Be able to successfully pass a background check and provide professional references upon request.
• Direct experience with positive behavioral support.

Looking for a candidate that can fulfill at least two of the following shifts:

• Tues/Th afternoons: 4hr/shift; schedule TBD based on availability and need
• Sat/Sun: 4hr/shift; schedule TBD based on availability and need

Wages:

• Starting rate $22.00/hour, with room for negotiations if credentials/experience call for it
• Mileage reimbursed at .62/mile when transporting

There is a basic expectation that you will:

• Participate in all required trainings and meetings
• Fill out and submit daily service notes and timekeeping documents
• Communicate promptly and in advance regarding all scheduling concerns
• Report any health and safety concerns appropriately that arise when working with the participant

Education:

• Minimum high school diploma or GED

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
