Description:

Responsible for completing varied duties to support the revenue cycle, compliance, and patient experience by accurately and efficiently completing tasks in areas of registration, financial screening, verification, and patient throughput. Maintains a close working relationship with all members of the clinical team to ensure a seamless and positive experience for both patients and caregivers. This incumbent is considered essential staff and must be able to work as needed on weekends, holidays, and during disastrous events (e.g., hurricanes, pandemic, etc.). This position may require deployment of legal, ethical and compliance related documents that must be presented and thoroughly explained to the patient at the time of registration. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining knowledge and deployment of practices used within the department as well as throughout the hospital to address patient questions or concerns. Estimated pay range for this position is $15.00 - $18.15 / hour depending on experience.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma, Certificate of Attendance or GED required. Additional Qualifications: Typing/Data entry test with a minimum score of 25 wpm. Complete and successfully pass the Patient Access training course. Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written). Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Desired: Knowledge of Health Care regulatory guidelines to include but not limited to HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, Sarbanes-Oxley, etc. Knowledge of insurance contracts, collections, authorizations, and precertification. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work weekends when necessary. Basic knowledge of Medical Terminology. Bilingual (English/Spanish). Minimum Required Experience: None
