SUMMARY

The Digital Installations Manager will support GST's vision to assist our dealer network with delivering a best in class online customer experience. Specifically, this DDM position is responsible for building proactive partnerships with Toyota North America (TMNA) as well as support GST dealers related to the launch, support, training and sustainment of the Toyota Smartpath program. This position will also assist with establishing relationships with 3rd party vendors that may interface with Toyota's SmartPath solution and other software solutions related to Toyota's Dealer Digital Solutions (TDDS). The Digital Installations Manager is accountable for developing tools, training and working with the GST field team and vendors in these areas of responsibility that lead to the improved performance of our dealer network. This position is under the leadership of (and reports to) the Manager, Dealer Implementations, and will work closely with the GST Field team to launch initiatives, support and sustain dealer performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Software Implementations
    • Assist GST and field operations with technical side of SmartPath and other digital retailing solutions. Areas of focus include Sales, F&I and Service
    • Provide feedback and enhancements requests that meet the needs of GST and GST dealers to TMNA to help evolve the SmartPath software products
    • Assist the MDI with managing a roadmap for SmartPath software development and enhancement requests utilizing project and product management solutions such as Microsoft Project for Web, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Teams
    • Attend TMNA product management meetings in order to stay educated and aware of software development and delivery in order to train GST field operations and GST dealers
    • Provide first level support for GST dealers and GST field operations for any technology integrations concerns and issues including but not limited to: Automotive Dealer Management System (DMS), Automotive Customer Relationship Management tools (CRM), Inventory Management Tool (ex. Home Net/vAuto), Tier 3 website provider, and Dealer Agencies.
    • Balanced business/technical background: Sufficient level of technical background to collaborate with development teams, develop strategies, ability to evaluate project risks and issues accurately and objectively with high visibility to executive leadership at GST, TMNA, Dealer and vendor partners.
  • Digital Operations
    • Enhance Dealership Sales & Service Processes thru online channels. Drive the ideation, thinking, and experimentation of new online buying and service capabilities in order to formulate the overall GST strategy of providing a best in class car buying or service experience, to include pilot testing and implementation of Digital Retailing and/or Toyota's SmartPath Online Retailing Platform
    • Will serve as field point person on the Toyota Digital Dealer Solutions 2.0 (TDDS) platform and will leverage all tools within the platform to assist dealers to identify areas of opportunity as it relates to online sales & service performance

  • Subject Matter Expertise
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of TMNA's SmartPath technology, learn, training and communicate enhancements and new integrations associated with software development both with SmartPath and vendors whose technology integrates with SmartPath.
  • Develop proficiency in tier 3 digital marketing initiatives and build evaluation tools to assist dealers in managing process and marketing initiatives
  • Develop proficiency and a thorough understanding of digital retailing by leveraging training opportunities and conferences for continuous development.
  • Understand fixed operations workflow processes in order to learn, train and support Toyota's and GSTs goal of installing SmartPath technology in the service and parts departments for GSTs dealer body
  • Understand 3rd party vendors technology and integrations in order to train and support GST field operations team
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the F&I product presentation and contracting process in order to assist with the implementation of TMNAs SmartPath F&I solution

  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Responsibly receive, transmit, and handle consumer and customer data per applicable policies and procedures.
  • Review and follow data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience requirements: Requires a bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of experience in the field or an equivalent combination of education and / or experience.

  • Experience with digital retailing, implementation of online tools and process consulting and training to transition online traffic to offline experience .
  • Experience working with dealers to improve their online and website presences, including digital and social advertising.
  • Experience consulting and recommending strategies to assist dealers with their ability to drive online digital traffic that improves their sales and service performance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The job requires significant domestic travel (up to 50% of the time). As a result, the duties for this position occur in various places including, but not limited to an office environment, car dealerships, and semi-industrial settings. The associate will regularly be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, areas in which moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals are present, and outside weather conditions. The noise level for this position will vary and the associate may be exposed to loud noise levels.


LOCATION & TRAVEL REQUIRED

Position is based out of a home office located in GST Texas Region (Austin, Dallas & Houston).


The job requires significant domestic travel (up to 50% of the time). The associate is frequently required to travel to other sites, including out-of-state, where applicable, for business purposes. A large amount of this travel involves driving a company vehicle.
