Converts data from specifications and statements of problems to computer code by
performing the following duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a positive manner.
  • Designs/codes applications following specifications using the appropriate tools.
  • Maintains and modifies existing applications with supervision and under the direction of IT Management and/or assigned senior developers.
  • Performs maintenance programming for the existing version.
  • Performs custom programming at customer request.
  • Assumes responsibility for ensuring their work conforms to the standards/conventions as approved by IT Management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:


Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Language Ability:


Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.


Math Ability:


Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


Reasoning Ability:


Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.


Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


Computer/Technical Skills:


To perform this job successfully, an individual should have appropriate knowledge of the appropriate computer system(s) and appropriate computer programming language(s).
