IT Field Service / Desktop Support Technician - Contract


Objective:

To provide Onsite Desktop Support to users located at NORMA Group facilities in Michigan

Primary Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:


  • Diagnose and resolve most PC hardware and software problems, refer problems requiring specialized training to higher-level personnel.
  • As part of the help desk, provide support to user requests over the phone and email using the ticket system.
  • Install and troubleshoot issues with Desktop and Laptop Computers
  • Support users on computer issues relating to email, network, printing, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues on Windows 10, Office365
  • Support and maintain Laser Printers, Label Printers, Handheld RF Scanners and other related equipment on the production shop floor and warehouses.
  • Work with IT group to resolve issues with Networks, Active Directory, Servers, backup devices.
  • Willingness to perform regular travel to other Michigan sites in Lake Orion & St. Clair.
  • Prepare documentation of systems, IT Assets and services.
  • Ensure IT Incidents and Service Requests are handled in a timely manner to meet SLA.
  • Support IT projects at Michigan sites.
  • This role involves interacting with IT users at all levels of the company. Good Customer Service skills required.
  • Continuously strives for improvement in performance of all responsibilities
  • Onsite & Regular work hours 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional off hours/weekend work for planned system maintenance tasks and unplanned system events.

Location:

Auburn Hills, Michigan

Education and/or Experience:

  • Computer Certification, Comptia A+, MCSE, MCITP, Assoc. Degree
  • 3-5 years related experience in a Desktop Support role
  • ITIL or ITSM training or experience in a help desk environment.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Customer Service Skills - Ability to take care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and projects
  • Problem Solving - Ability to find a solution or to deal proactively with computer system issues.
