Imagine Schools Maryland regional office is hiring a Desktop Support Technician. This team member is responsible for maintenance of Local Area Networks, PCs and peripheral equipment on K-12 campuses and the regional office. Duties include troubleshooting software issues and repairing computer systems as well as performing local area network administration activities. Customer service orientation is strongly preferred and the ability to work on multiple tasks required.
Description
The Desktop Support Technician’s role is to support and maintain organizational computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. That includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all organizational hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
· Support development and implementation of new computer projects and new hardware installations.
· Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future hardware and organizational hardware needs.
Operational Management
· Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end-users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions as needed.
· Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user and network hardware, peripheral devices, printing/scanning devices, presentation equipment, software, and other products in order to deliver required desktop service levels.
· Collaborate with Technology team members to ensure efficient operation of the organization’s desktop computing environment.
· Where required, administer and resolve issues with associated end-user workstation network software products.
· Ensure that desktop connection, ie. network jacks are in proper working order.
· If necessary, liaise with third-party support and PC equipment vendors.
· Perform related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification
- High School diploma or equivalent, 3 years work experience in related field. Microsoft certifications a plus.
Knowledge & Experience
· Excellent knowledge of PC and desktop hardware.
· Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
· Extensive equipment support experience.
· Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and standards.
· Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
· Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation and OEM guides.
· Background in Microsoft Operating Systems and Products
· Knowledge of Windows 7/8/10 Enterprise, Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome.
· Knowledge of Ethernet and structured cabling a plus.
· Knowledge of VoIP phone systems a plus.
· Experience supporting K-12 services a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $58,592.00 - $63,991.00 per year
