SUMMARY
Under general direction, is responsible for configuration, installation and support of assigned business units’ personal computers and peripheral equipment. Provides maintenance and user assistance for CDS Global’s standard systems. Assists with training and mentoring of Desktop Support team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintains confidentiality of CDS Global and its’ clients’ proprietary information.
- Responsible for coordination, documentation and installation of supported desktop hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
- Provides technical software user assistance and/or updates as requested by Help Desk.
- Attempts correction of hardware problems prior to securing outside repair services.
- Makes decisions on wide variety of tasks frequently requiring discretion, judgement and initiative, guided by general standards or procedures.
- Logs inventory movement using standard inventory procedures.
- Develops accurate and complete PC hardware and software installation procedures.
- Provides manager with pertinent information and project status and/or schedule changes.
- Organizes tasks and resources to complete work and meet deadlines, according to established departmental procedures.
- Interacts in cooperative and professional manner with all levels of employees, clients and vendors in team oriented environment.
- Continually learns and applies new information in fast-paced dynamic technical environment.
- Assists with training and mentoring of Desktop Support team.
- Travels as required or requested.
- Follows all CDS Global ergonomic and safety policies.

EDUCATION AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND LICENSING
- Associate in Computer Science or other related field of study, or equivalent work-related experience in desktop equipment, repair and maintenance.
- Two or more years of experience in a Desktop Support position or equivalent business and data processing experience.
- Two or more years of experience resolving progressively complex desktop hardware problems.
- Demonstrated experience making decisions on variety of business and technical tasks requiring discretion, technical judgement, and initiative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Simple math skills.
- If required to travel, has access to transportation requiring a valid driver’s license, proof of safe driving record, and active insurance.
