Designer/Detailer - Hangar Doors

As part of the Engineering team, the Designer/Detailer creates 3D models and production drawings for large-scale motorized door systems used in aircraft hangers, and industrial applications. Each project is custom designed to meet the customer’s requirements, and will require and good working knowledge of structural, mechanical and electrical systems. The Designer/Detailer will also prepare technical documentation needed for fabrication and installation.

Qualifications

· Proven success in timely completion of design projects.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.

· Ability to read and understand architectural and structural design drawings is essential.

· Experience with 3D modeling and CAD drafting package, as well as solid computer skills. Experience with steel design and fabrication is preferred.

· Work experience with building construction is strongly preferred.

Education and/or Experience

• Associates Degree with a focus on architectural & structural steel design.

· Two plus years of design experience.

• Experience with AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD drafting package is required.
• Experience with 3D modelling, such as SolidWorks or Tekla.
• Ability to understand electrical schematics preferred, but not essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
