This position is part of our Signal & Power Solutions segment, Electrical Distribution Systems business group and is located in Troy, MI.

Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Design Release Engineer. Our Engineers design, develop and validate EE Architecture for customers. Studies vehicle packaging and systems for ensuring optimizing wire harness to meet market demands as well as customer satisfactions.

In this role, you’ll be working with Engineering customers for establishing best in class wire harness design for Aptiv.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and Design wire harness packaging and system schematics
• Develop wire harness 2D prints
• Coordinate Engineering changes and its implementation between customer and Aptiv
• Work closely with Application Engineering team for ensuring customer requirements
• Provide Engineering service to customers
• Manage customer Engineering requests
• Ensure customer specific requirements

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):

• BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• 3+ years of experience with electrical wire harness design and/or manufacturing experience.
• ECAD operational skills (CATIA, UG etc.)
• Self-Motivator with strong work ethic
• Time management; specifically aimed at managing engineering team deliverables
• Must be task oriented, detail oriented and accurate
• Good written and oral English communication skills

Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):

• 2nd language communication skills – Spanish
• Experience with program management
• OEM design release experience. (Ford preferred - but all considered)
• Strong multifunctional work experience (engineering/commercial/program management)
• Automotive Electrical Distribution System Design Release Engineering experience
