Hiring Opportunity: Columbus, OH

Our client is looking for a Design Engineer to join their team. They manufacture and process metal fibers into conductive materials. They also provide materials to the aerospace and other demanding industries with products designed to meet the most technical design and application environments. The Design Engineer will be responsible for researching manufacturing processes and designing manufacturing equipment for metalized polymers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Research manufacturing processes and design new production systems
• Perform environmental and feasibility analyses of new products and their manufacturing equipment
• Develop new equipment and production line(s)
• Test, verify, and prove the new equipment using scientific principles and engineering laws
• Supervise production line(s) set-up, calibration, and maintenance
• Propose production line(s) upgrades to improve the qualities and the quantities of company products
• Monitor quality control processes, measurements, inputs, and outputs
• Manage the company's production equipment and line(s) construction
• Maintain a safe production environment as described in ISO, OSHA, ANSI, ASME, IEEE, and NEC standards

OTHER ACTIVITIES:

• Assist President in the research and development of new and current processes and operations
• Advise on practical manufacturing efficiency by means of investigated techniques
• Assist in customer-interactions

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 5 years experience in automation systems design and manufacturing operations
• Strong knowledge of ISO, OSHA, ANSI, ASME, ASTM, IEEE, and NEC standards
• Strong project management skills for large engineering design and development projects
• Strong organization skills in a fast-paced team environment
• Strong computer and CAD skills
• Electro Plating background preferred
• PE Broad Certificate preferred
• BS or higher degree in mechanical engineering
