Primary Responsibilities
.
- Works safely in a commercial kitchen and observes food safety standards and practices as specified by federal, state and local health authorities.
- Maintains cleanliness in food storage and work areas.
- Works productively for entire assigned shift.
- Load catering vans per instructions of the event manager or event lead
- Set banquet rooms per instructions of the event manager or event lead
- Set up Buffet tables per instructions of the event manager or event lead
- Ensure that all decorations have been set in accordance to the contract
- Make sure that tables are set with linen, dishware and flatware
- Fill glasses with water before guests arrive and refill them during the course of the event
- Greet guests in a cordial manner as they arrive
- Set banquet table with dishes
- Carry food trays to the tables
- Ensure that food is replenished in a quick manner
- Deliver beverages as per guests’ instructions
- Anticipate guests’ needs continually and fulfill them appropriately
- Clear dishes and flatware once the event has ended
- Clean premises along with stripping table cloths and napkins
- Take down decorations as instructed
- Unload catering vans per instructions of the event manager or event lead
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs other duties not specified under primary duties.
- Assists in maintaining common work areas in a clean and safe conditions.
- Makes minor equipment repairs and adjustments according to the skills and experience
Of the individual.
- Performs other tasks or duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high
school diploma or the equivalent.
- Ability to understand and carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions in English
Independently.
- Familiarity with Washington State food safety practices and standards.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Ability to exert up to 30 pounds of force frequently and up to 60 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to grasp, lift, reach, crouch, stand, walk and carry for long periods of time.
- Must possess a valid Washington State approved food safety certificate.
Working Conditions
1. Working conditions are normal for a commercial kitchen environment.
2. Will be required to work in rare but extreme temperatures from time to time, as high as 125°F and
as cold as -10°F
- Will encounter slippery floors in the kitchen; non-slip soles are required.
- Will be required to work frequent early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Salary: $17.50 - $19.50 per hour
