Position Summary

Compass Natural Gas Partners, headquartered in Harrisburg, PA, is a privately-owned compressed natural gas distribution company. We source natural gas, compress it at our Montoursville, PA terminal, and deliver it by truck to our customers in Pennsylvania and the neighboring states.

Our drivers drop full compressed natural gas trailers at our customer sites, and bring the empty trailers back to our terminals to be refilled. All of the work is drop-and-hook and we provide training on connecting and disconnecting the hoses and what to do at the customer site. The company is not very large, so everyone is on a first name basis and works together. We're looking for someone who is not only a good driver, but a good teammate.

This position directly reports to the Transportation Manager. While on-site at the Montoursville Terminal, all drivers will follow the directions of the Terminal Operators and the Terminal Manager.

Core Job Responsibilities & Expectations

The following list contains many of the duties to be performed, but is not all inclusive:

· Year-round, steady work; 5 – 6 days/work per week

· CNG training provided; no prior experience is required

· Job primarily involves delivering, connecting, and disconnecting CNG tankers at customer sites

· CNG deliveries involve only drop & hook; drivers do not come into contact with the product. The work is clean, safe, and straightforward

· Drivers may be asked to move equipment trailers, move other freight, and deliver overnight periodically.

· Drivers may be asked to work remotely, in Ohio, West Virginia, or Pennsylvania to deliver CNG trailers to rig and frac projects for a week at a time.

· This position is for the mid-shift, with a standard start time of 0900 in the morning, working until 1900-2100 at night. The opportunity to move to early mornings (0600 usual start) does exist and preference is given to existing drivers over new hires to fill open positions.

· Compass currently operates 3 shifts; 0600, 0900 and 1800 start times are the general start times, but our delivery model is just-in-time (JIT), so those start times may fluctuate.

· Drivers are expected to perform pre- and post-trip inspections of equipment and report any defects.

· Drivers are expected to report any issues or concerns regarding a customer site.

Education and Minimum Acceptable Qualifications.

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Prior military service is preferred, but not required

· Valid Commercial Driver’s License required, as well as a Tanker Endorsement. Having, or be able to get, a Hazmat Endorsement is also a requirement.

· Available to work weekends/nights/holidays.

· Ability to work independently and make sound decisions when necessary.

· Must be able to meet all physical requirements of the job including climbing stairs and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hour of work vary.

Travel

This position is based at and responsible for deliveries from a single facility. However, this person may be asked to travel overnight to pick up or drop off trailers at locations out of state, or to make deliveries at a remote site for multiple shifts, but this is not the normal course of operations and done on a volunteer basis.
