Job description
Required Function 1:
The Database Administrator II is responsible for assisting with architectural design, development, and deployment of cost-effective and sustainable database technical solutions. The role also is responsible for managing database performance, security, integrity, and assisting with the development of the procedures to support enterprise applications and business functions.
Required Function 2:
- Participates under the guidance of the Sr. Database Administrator/Architect in the architecture and design of database solutions including data models, database technologies to employ, application/database interaction models and associated standards.
- Configures and upgrades database software.
- Evaluates database features and related products.
- Performs database application tuning and performance monitoring.
- Perform Database Patch Management and Version Control.
- Provides consultation and trouble shooting for the development team.
- Designs and implements databases in conjunction with the application development.
- Establishes and maintains sound backup and recovery policies and procedures in conjunction with the system administrators.
- Sets up and maintains database documentation and standards.
- Interfaces with database vendors for technical support.
- Implements and maintains database security.
- Plans database growth and changes (capacity planning).
- Provides 7X24 database support for production databases.
Required Function 3:
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree preferredBachelor’s degree experience requirements:o Min. 3 years experience in database management in UNIX based DB2 and/or Oracle databases and warehouseso Min 1 year experience in systems architecture

- Ability to work independently and with a team.

- Ability to take after hour calls.
