Department Summary
The Office of Admissions includes over 50 staff who are engaged in the work of recruitment and outreach to prospective undergraduates and making admission decisions on all applicants for freshman, transfer, and post-baccalaureate undergraduate admission. Admissions is a unit of the Division of Student Services & Enrollment Management and work closely with several other units of that division, especially Scholarships/Financial Aid and Orientation, as well as many other parts of campus.
Position Summary
The purpose of the Data Manager position is to oversee and manage the overall data, systems, imaging, and technological needs of the Office of Admissions. This position creates, manages, and updates data reports and data processes for use in the various on-campus systems (Banner, Cognos, Slate, and OnBase). Requiring in-depth knowledge of various on-campus systems and data load processes and the use of independent judgment to determine the validity of information and the development of future processes.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or an additional two years of work experience.
- Three years of professional work experience in a position that required administrative functions and/or office management.
- One year of professional work experience utilizing a CRM or student information system.
Professional Competencies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; attention to detail.
- Excellent computer and word processing skills and ability to create, update and maintain electronic records.
- Experience utilizing Banner (or other student information system (SIS)) and Slate (or another CRM), specifically related to the data management and implementation of load processes.
- Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, project management, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage stressful or difficult situations in a calm, constructive, and professional manner, particularly as it relates to handling sensitive and/or confidential information.
- Demonstrated overall commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity including the ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in higher education.
- Two years of supervisory experience.
