BDS is seeking a Customer Engagement Specialist / Event Planner to join the Business Development (BD) Customer & Market Engagement team located in Ridley Park, PA in the Philadelphia area.

As a member of the BDS Customer & Market Engagement team, you will provide leadership and support in strategic event planning and marketing support to various BDS & Boeing Global Services (BGS) programs, both domestic and international. As the Customer Engagement Specialist, you are focused on supporting customer events within the BDS Vertical Lift business at the Ridley Park site.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support BDS & BGS customer meetings and events at the Boeing Philadelphia site.
  • Planning, coordination, and execution of complex customer meetings and events including site visits, product launches, conferences, product demonstrations, site tours, and sponsored functions for U.S. Department of Defense and international customers, Boeing and industry partner executives, elected officials, community groups, local government representatives, and suppliers.
  • Support BDS Vertical Lift trade shows and conferences domestically and internationally.
  • Demonstrated leadership, event project management, marketing, communication, and teambuilding skills are key.
  • Proficiency with event related technology including registration systems, event management systems, event apps, etc.
  • Organizes and manages a multi-disciplined team (e.g., facilities, marketing/communications, graphics, security, transportation, etc.) to implement the plan.
  • Continuously collect, integrate, and proactively disseminate information to all stakeholders to ensure adherence to the plan. Increased exposure to and support of senior executives to include briefings, sharing the plan, and developing executive event schedules.
  • Based on customer requirements (e.g., budget, group size, format, site accessibility, aesthetics and A/V requirements, etc.) research and evaluate potential venues (including site inspections) and make recommendations on preferred venue or site to customer.
  • Implements logistics for complex and/or highly visible visits/events in accordance with company policies and procedures, branding compliance, business courtesy guidelines and U.S. and foreign government rules and regulations.
  • Applies extensive knowledge of customer's customs and cultures in all aspects of the visit/event, provides sound protocol advice and recommendations and takes action.
  • Other essential skills and competencies are business knowledge, flexibility, attention to detail, decisiveness, forward thinking, and a positive approach to change and innovation.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision, meet deadlines and event budget targets, and create and maintain effective working relationships and customer partnerships.
  • Provides on-site management of resources for visit/event.
  • Facilitates process improvements based on in-depth analysis of feedback.
  • The selected candidate will be required to perform most work onsite at the Boeing Philadelphia site. This position does allow some telecommuting.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience assembling and delivering key briefings both to senior leadership as well as through the organization
  • 5+ years of experience planning, organizing, facilitating and/or executing large scale meetings and events
  • Experience with managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to travel occasionally domestically and internationally.
  • Experience leading / collaborating across geographically dispersed teams

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • More than 5 years’ experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior management, customers, stakeholders, peers and partners.
  • Certified Meeting Professional, Certified Government Meeting Professional, or other event marketing industry certification.
  • Experience developing and managing event related technology including registration systems, event management systems, event apps, etc.
  • Experience with working with international customers.
  • Experience with Contracts and Negotiations.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).

Shift:

This position is for 1st shift. The Boeing Philadelphia site is on a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.
