Overview

The Credit & Collections Analyst is tasked with analyzing the credit data, financial statements, paying habits of customers, monitoring receivables to reduce the risk involved in extending credit while also minimizing collection issues. This generally entails collections and reviewing account discrepancies.

In this position you will need to have a knack for numbers, be very outcome oriented, in addition to having strong prioritization skills.

Responsibilities:

• Promptly sets up new accounts, emailing credit application and information to representatives and customers as needed
• Conducts credit research recommending a Line of Credit (LOC) for prospective accounts.
• Proactively calls customers, entering collection notes in the database and communicating issues/concerns to Credit Manager
• Using a courteous telephone manner & good communication skill, notifies customers of delinquent accounts by telephone and/or email
• Prepare monthly statements for customers.
• Receives payments and post amounts paid while monitoring overdue customer accounts.
• Investigates customer payment disputes.
• Monitors LOC and terms compliance recommending adjustments to the customer’s LOC (increase/decrease)
• Recommends and issues credit holds with the approval of the Credit Manager
• Maintain customer sales tax compliance (tax certificates, nexus, authorities, etc)

Skills/Experience

• Associate's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
• 2-3 years of experience with collections, invoicing, and/or accounts receivable
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting principles
• Strong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to analyze large sets of data.
• High degree of familiarity with the collections & accounts receivable functions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
