Avex is a rapidly growing eCommerce agency that partners with merchants in the fashion, lifestyle and premium products space. We design, build and optimize eCommerce experiences on Shopify Plus for global brands.
The Creative Director’s job is to mentor, motivate, and supervise all creatives on the team. They nurture their creatives' ideas and monitor their overall performance. Plus, they assist in hiring, onboarding, and managing freelance and full-time Directors, UX Designers, UI Designers, Graphic Designers, and other members of the creative team.
Creative Directors generally develop and oversee projects at the earliest stages, casting vision, form concepts, and pilot design philosophy. They are the Big Picture thinker. They clearly explain to Design Team how to maintain the brand's image, how to execute our design process for each phase, and how to make sure everything we do is reflective of our company and our clients in tandem. After the parameters are clear, creative directors delegate each part of the process to their team members.
General Duties
- Interviewing New Design Team Members
- Onboarding/Training New Design Team Members
- Lead Design Weekly Workshop
- Lead Design 1-1's
- Responsible for creative direction of all Avex branding
- Represent the Design Dpt on Delivery Workshops & Advise on Design Processes
- Identify Design Process Improvements & Document/Relay them
- Assist Sales Team w/ Pitches and Scoping
Responsibilities
- Workshop w/ Clients Pre-Sale
- Develop and Present Initial Creative Direction Pre-Sale
- Algin Design Team on Vision Post-Sale
- Oversee Projects during the earliest stages
Skill Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in e-commerce, with experience in large complex projects
- Portfolio of e-commerce projects
- 7+ years of experience in UX/UI Design
- 4+ years of experience in Graphic Design
- 3+ years of experience in Figma
- 3+ years experience in a supervisory/senior position
- Experience in Shopify Design preferred
- Experience in leading, managing, and mentoring a team of developers.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Quick problem-solving skills with exceptional aptitude and reasoning
- Motion Knowledge
- Adaptive and up for cross-functional collaborations to achieve common goals for the growth and development of the same.
