CQI Coach/Specialist
LOCATION: Cleveland, Ohio
PAY: $21.00/hr
SCHEDULE: 9:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday

As a CQI Coach/Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting, maintaining and distributing data for the Agency. Assist with other research activities, including, but not limited: to data analysis, report-writing, literature reviews, maintenance of research website, development of trainings and technical assistance. Responsible for working towards implementation of Evidence Based Practices (EBPs) and also, responsible for mentoring and training employees on their use of EBPs and tracking progress of same.

What to expect
- A flexible 40 hour work week schedule working with a wide variety of staff teams
- Approximately 50/50 split between working with people and working on a computer
- Direct coaching and training with staff and clients using EBP skills
- Provide direct 1-on-1, small group, and large group training both in person and virtually
- Collaborate with a team of specialists and facility leadership to develop and implement improvement initiatives
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures and instruction sheets
Essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to:
EBP Implementation
Assesses the needs of the program necessary to implement/enhance the use of EBPs. Informs facility supervisor(s) and CQIA of the findings.
Develops an implementation plan for EBPs in conjunction with facility supervisor(s) and CQIA.
Assists facility(s) in implementation of EBPs to ensure fidelity.
Uses Agency observation and feedback forms as directed to ensure implementation fidelity.
Assesses progress of implementation plan, evaluates achievement, and develops a sustainability plan.
Assists with the identification and implementation of appropriate assessment tools to be utilized within the facility(s).
Assists in identifying and developing appropriate client intervention strategies to facilitate successful outcomes.
Assists facility employees with implementing intervention strategies.
EBP Evaluation and Improvement
Conducts quality assurance supervision to ensure the use of EBPs within the facility.
Enters and maintains data in Research and/or CQI databases as deemed necessary by the CQIA in an accurate and timely manner.
Compiles quality improvement data in an accurate and timely manner. Ensures monthly, quarterly, and/or annual statistics are completed and distributed as directed by CQIA.
Evaluates program EBP proficiency achievement and its ability to sustain proficiency without intensive assistance.
Remains up-to-date with current research on effective interventions with offenders and helps disseminate this information.
Utilizes existing research and CQI reports as input in making program improvements.
Solicits client input into the facility(s) improvement and achievement.
Reviews and recommends revisions of program procedures to facility supervisor(s).
Works with facility supervisor(s) to develop and implement improvements identified through the evaluation process.
Assists in audit preparation with CQIA approval and meets with external auditors as needed.
Training and Mentoring
Provides ongoing formal and documented education and training for employees in the use of EBPs (e.g., Core Correctional Practices, EPICS II, etc.).
Provides on-the-job coaching to employees.
Mentors and assists in developing proficiency in the use of EBPs with facility supervisor(s) and peer coaches with EBP in order to sustain effective use of same. Tracks progress in an accurate and timely manner.
Uses training registration system as directed by CQIA in order to ensure enrollment in proper, uniform trainings related to EBP.
Selects and implements the intervention strategies that best fit the characteristics of individual employees and facility(s) in accordance with professional development.
Conducts training on the use of EPBs in conjunction with Staff Development. Reviews and updates trainings in conjunction with CQIA and Staff Development.
Staff Performance
Evaluates employees’ implementation of EBPs as well as their overall progress and goal achievement. Provides feedback to employees and communicates progress to facility supervisor(s) on a regular basis in an accurate and timely manner.
Works with facility supervisor(s) to identify areas for improvement for individual employees. Provides input into disciplinary actions and action plans if necessary, following outlined communication process.
Develops individualized approaches with specific action items in conjunction with employees to assist them in becoming proficient in the use of EBPs.
Recognizes employees who have met or exceeded implementation requirements. Works with facility supervisor(s) and CQIA to develop and track incentive programs.
Follows outlined communication process as directed by CQIA.
Develops peer coach criteria and assists program supervisor(s) in the identification of peer coaches.
Facilitates client programming as scheduled with CQIA permission in order to maintain skill use and model appropriate client interactions.
Utilizes audio/video recording capabilities, ORION, and video surveillance equipment to monitor staff interactions to monitor the delivery of EBPs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree required.
· Experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement, staff training and/or Evidence Based Practices implementation preferred.
· Must be able to use Microsoft Office Suite and effectively complete data tracking.
· Experience in database management, statistical software, and project management is a plus.
· Must have the ability to effectively work with Agency employees, outside contacts, and a diverse client population.
· Must be willing to undergo backgrounds checks and pass a drug screen
