Qualifications:

An accredited bachelor’s degree or accredited associate degree plus two (2) years of relevant work experience or 60 accredited college hours plus two (2) years relevant work experience or 90 accredited college credit hours plus one (1) year of relevant work experience. Valid driver’s license and meet agency underwriting standards.

As a Courtesy Supervision Specialist, you will promote the achievement of permanency for children in the Managing Conservatorship of DFPS by providing local supervision and services for children and families from other areas of the state into Region 2 as well as children placed into Texas through ICPC. This position serves as Psychiatric Hospital liaison as well as liaison to children placed with TDJJ.

• Make monthly contact with children in the conservatorship of DFPS who are placed outside of their home region and enter contacts in IMPACT.
• Attend monthly medication reviews for children placed in residential treatment settings.
• Assist primary workers with family visits, sibling visits, and subsequent placement moves as needed.
• Ensure the child's needs are being met appropriately by the placement.
• Provide the primary worker with written information of any meeting/staffing and provide information to assist in the completion of the child's plan of service, common application and court report.
• Provide resources and support to relative placements.
• Attends and participates in local meetings, staffings, and transitional planning meetings for adolescent youth placed in Region 02 from other areas.
• Follows Psychiatric Hospitalization protocol relating to contact and services to children and youth placed in Psychiatric hospitals in Region 02.
• Follows CPS policy related to contact and services to children placed in TDJJ facilities in Region 02.
• Performs other duties as assigned and required to maintain unit operations.
• Promotes and demonstrates appropriate respect for cultural diversity among coworkers, clients, and all work-related contacts.
