The Counter Salesperson is at the center of what makes our company work.

The HVAC/Plumbing Counter Salesperson will increase sales and customer satisfaction by efficiently and courteously assisting walk-in and telephone customers in the selection and acquisition of needed products, by applying technical knowledge to satisfy customer needs.

Essential Duties:

• Promptly assist customers at counter or on the phone; deal courteously and efficiently with customers helping them get exactly what they need.
• Entering orders into the Eclipse system accurately.
• Pulling, filling, packing and setting up orders for delivery or pickup.
• Develop and demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of our product lines and stay current on changes and improvements in the lines.
• Work actively with other sales team members on account planning to grow the accounts and serve the customers better.
• Communicate openly with customers and other Torrco branches and provide information about products/inventory as requested.
• Deal with customers in returning merchandise in such a way as to maintain customer satisfaction and comply with Torrco policies on returns; communicate with Returned Goods team to avoid process errors.
• Follow-up on customer orders, resolve problems to the customer’s satisfactions, respond to inquiries timely and professionally.
• Coordinate activities with purchasing, shipping, credit and billing.
• Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as required.

Qualifications:

• HVAC product knowledge/application experience required.
• Plumbing/Piping industry experience a plus.
• Wholesale distribution sales experience a plus.

Requirements:

• Must possess positive and professional attitude.
• Strong communication skills.
• Excels in all individual and group communications with a variety of audiences, organizational levels, and external groups.
• Must be dependable, a team player, able to adapt to various situations and be willing to learn.
• Working proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet, ERP system and be able to use the phones.

Hours:

Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
