Your Role:

The Cost Accounting Manager reports to the Chief Accounting Officer and is primarily responsible for developing and continuously improving the company's cost of goods sold and inventory accounting processes. They will be a key business partner to the Operations, Supply Chain, Farm Support and FP&A teams.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist with the Inventory Accounting Process
    • Development, improvement, and maintenance of inventory transaction management and reconciliation processes leveraging Netsuite functionality
    • Ensure accuracy of inventory on the balance sheet and cost of goods sold in the income statement
    • Maintain perpetual inventory by monitoring inventory count programs and controlling co-manufacturing inventory; provide guidance for physical inventory counts
    • Prepare or review entries related to our butter production and capitalization of costs into inventory, valuation reserves
    • Assist with enhancement of our internal controls related to inventory and cost of goods sold transactions
  • Drive implementation of standard costing system from average cost method in NetSuite
    • Develop deep understanding of current costing processes, raw materials and cost drivers
    • Partner with NetSuite IT support and Operations Team to develop and implement standard costing system
  • Be the subject matter expert on costing and drive continuous improvement
    • Develop deep understanding of production processes and material sourcing
    • Drive constant improvement of costing accuracy, forecasting and overall visibility of our egg and butter costs
    • Proactively identify and raise costing and process improvement opportunities

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Minimum of 5 years in cost and inventory accounting role, food and beverage industry preferred
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Deep experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus)
