Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant who will report to the Cost Accounting Supervisor based in Taneytown, MD. In this role you will support a local accounting/finance structure, working directly within the operations and also helping out with other factories as needed.

This is a hybrid role (3 days at the facility, 2 days from home)

Responsibilities:

• Month end reporting
• Perform month end close for Inventory / Cycle Counting / Scrap Reporting
• Project accounting
• Sales and margin analysis
• Processing month end journals and accruals including OSMI, Deferred Revenue, and others as assigned
• Run and reconcile Backlog
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Daily processing of the shipments in Symix
• Backup to Standard Cost Roll process
• Data analysis for cost and manufacturing within the business
• Become and stay current with all company policies, accounting and relevant Corporate policies
• Other duties assigned

Requirements:

• BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong Cost Accounting experience in Manufactuting.
• Experience working with the Project Management team managing projects and costs previously.
• Highly Proficient/Expert in Excel other MS Office products

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Knowledge of GAAP
• Clear and concise communications skills
• Ability to challenge the norm and look for better solutions/processes, attention to detail
• Systems knowledge: Oracle, BPC, SAP will be beneficial. Ability to learn local ERP system- Symix
