POSITION SUMMARY:
Actively drive continuous improvement activities under Vigor’s Nuclear CAPA Program to deliver improved fabrication, documentation, and process quality results. Participates in initiatives to align Corrective Action Program with industry best practices, and partners with management to identify, analyze, and improve work and quality performance.
JOB SCOPE:
Operates within general parameters of the business unit, but must use sound judgment and independent decision making when carrying out job responsibilities. Has the ability to influence and recommend modifying existing protocols. Failure to meet the requirements of the project team could result in project delay and increased cost to the company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list is not intended to detail all aspects of the assigned work but is representative of the job’s overall responsibilities)
1. Initiation of Condition Reports
2. 10 CFR 21 evaluations
3. Extent of Condition investigations
4. Perform Corrective Action/Extent of Condition interviews
5. Development of and implementation of immediate actions as well as corrective and preventive actions
6. Root Cause Analysis – Audit the effectiveness and compliance of the program that consists of documentation, analyzing repetitive failures, analyzing major failures, training, develop/manage corrective action database, elimination of root causes.
7. CAR closure and objective evidence documentation
8. Effectiveness reviews
9. Procedure writing and revisions
10. Training Module creation and issuance of training to personnel
11. Performs other duties as assigned

- Adaptability: Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent interruptions, changes, delays, or unexpected events.
- Nuclear QA/CAPA Program exposure, preferable
- Computer: MS Office suite proficiency (Word, Excel spreadsheets and graphs, Power Point)
- Experience with TapRoot and MFiles software or successful experience learning new software programs preferred
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of a B.A. or B.S. degree in Business, Engineering or a related field preferred
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in continuous improvement/Corrective Action programs.
- Demonstrated understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, NQA-1, AS9100, ASME Section III, ASME Section VIII.
- Fabrication/Manufacturing experience preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Certification in industry standard root cause analysis (RCA) techniques preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced office setting. The person may be required to be in production areas at times. He/she must be able to walk to and from job sites. There may be local travel up to 10% of the time and out-of-town travel (including air travel) up to 5% of the time with notice.
