, we provide medically needed health care to adults and youth in custody at Multnomah County Jails and Juvenile Detention Facility. Come join our team of Portland's most outstanding health care professionals providing exceptional services to our diverse community!
Our facilities collectively house over 1,000 adults and 80 juveniles. Over 36,000 adults are cared for each year. Over 2,000 juveniles are cared for each year from Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties- brought in from the community, other jurisdictions and other community holding facilities.
We are hiring for an Office Assistant Senior to work in either:
1. The Multnomah County Detention Center (downtown)

Schedule: Wednesday - Friday 9:00AM - 7:30PM and . Saturday 8:00 - 2:00PM
2. Inverness Jail (near PDX airport)

Schedule: Monday 10:00AM-6:30PM Tuesday - Friday 09:00AM - 5:30PM
As the Corrections Health Office Assistant Senior, you will:
-
Prepare standard schedules for all facilities, secure coverage for future absences and provide emergency coverage for unscheduled absences
-
Review time entered in Workday for assigned employees to ensure accurate entries and compensation is reflective of each union contract; communicate scheduling or time entry concerns, questions and requests received from staff that cannot be resolved; partner with department HR or central functions to resolve requests or concerns
-
Provide support services to the Operations Supervisor and other Corrections Health Managers and Supervisors as requested
-
Transcribe medical orders from providers within Electronic Medical Record; coordinate relevant follow up within E-SWIS, including scheduling patients for labs, updating the electronic medication administration record (Sapphire), follow up appointments and specialty visits, and billing of inmates for medical services provided by Corrections

Health; process release of information and special records requests concerning inmate health records
-
Assist facility Managers, Supervisors and Leads to identify appropriate, cost-effective coverage that is within parameters outlined in respective bargaining unit contracts

Develop, maintain and improve spreadsheets, documents, letters and memos, and related tracking systems and communications that may be called into public records or other discovery requests as part of a correctional facility operation

Order supplies in Multco Marketplace; and submit requisitions for approval
-
Conduct Time Entry audits, answers questions of 24/7 facility needs for represented, management, temporary, on-call employees and contingent workers; provide resources such as quick reference guides (QRGs) for Workday actions

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be as noted below. All non-traditional education,training and experience will be evaluated.

Education/Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade, AND
-
Experience: Three (3) years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
