Job Description


The Instructional Design Specialist splits their time between engaging with customers for live training sessions and focusing on improving digital content for Alpine’s Learning Management System.

This role is responsible for identifying training content needs, creating digital content to be hosted on Alpine’s Learning Management System, and deploying the content to Alpine’s users. The Instructional Design Specialist must continually update the digital content to reflect new features and products, as well as respond to the changing needs of Alpine’s customers. Additionally, this role must leverage asynchronous learning best practices and tools to optimize the learning experience.

This position is also responsible for educating Alpine software users how to use the products to do their jobs effectively. Responsibilities include teaching new designers the basics of the application as well as working with experienced designers to hone their skills and maximize the value that Alpine software provides. The training department plays a key role in enabling Alpine to bring on new business, and the Software Trainer works closely with new customers to get them up to speed on Alpine software so they can run their business efficiently.

This role is also expected to continually improve their own software skills as new features and products are implemented and released.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Travel to customers up to 25%
  • Identify content needs for Alpine’s digital Learning Management System
  • Generate content for Alpine’s LMS
  • Source content from other trainers or software support staff
  • Update content based on new software or changes in customer needs
  • Learn and leverage asynchronous learning best practices to improve LMS offering
  • Conduct New Designer training classes for existing Alpine customers
  • Conduct Continuing Education classes for existing Alpine customers
  • Conduct conversion training classes to convert users from competitor software to Alpine software as part of new business onboarding
  • Host webinars to educate the broader Alpine customer base on important software features
  • Work with internal software experts to improve personal software skills and learn new features as they are released
  • Host internal training sessions to improve skillset of less experienced software support members

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing or Construction Management preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Experience creating and managing a Learning Management System
  • Familiarity with adult asynchronous learning best practices
  • Ability to manage and upload website content
  • Ability to quickly learn new software
  • Experience hosting software training sessions
  • Experience interacting with customers
  • Experience in construction technology preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional Presentation skills
  • Proven experience as a highly motivated, results-driven, self-starter
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office
  • Industry related software a plus
  • Valid driver's license within state of residence and good driving record
