These are very exciting times for Easterseals Redwood. As we are continuing to grow and reach more individuals in our community, it is essential that we take a uniform and collaborative approach at training our agency’s workforce development specialists. The Workforce Development Coordinator will be crucial in organizing our team to learn and implement the best practices possible to help individuals with disabilities and disadvantages enter the workforce. The Coordinator will work closely with our economic empowerment programs to ensure we are maximizing our external resources that help our clients enter the workforce.
In coordination with the agency’s program management staff and members of the senior leadership team, this individual will coordinate job development efforts and practices for the agency’s Economic Empowerment Programs. This individual will be responsible for understanding all Easterseals’ job development programs and how to integrate those with the labor force needs of the greater Cincinnati area.
The Coordinator will work closely with the following programs and their staff: Comprehensive Case Management and Employment Program (CCMEP), Prosperity for All, YouthBuild, FastTrac, Career Connections, Benefits Bridge, YARI, Life Skills Development, PREP, OhioToWork)
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Establish lasting relationships with area employers for purposes of client job training and placement
- Coordinate internal “bank” of job resources, postings, job-readiness trainings, etc.
- Serve as advocate and liaison between job seekers, employers, and staff
- Ensures that agency job developers are trained on current workforce development practices
- Maintain agency job placement data
- Represent agency on local workforce initiatives (Ohio to Work, Chamber of Commerce, etc.)
- Coordinate agency-wide job readiness trainings and events
- In partnership with program managers, develop goals and training plans for job development staff.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Bachelor degree in Human Services or related field required
- 2 years experience working with individuals facing economic disadvantages required
- Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP) certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire is required
- Knowledge of customer service principles, case management and human services principles
- Knowledge of computer software, applications and programs
- Skilled in verbal and written communication
- Ability to exhibit flexibility in work schedule & job tasks
- Exceptional organizational, planning, scheduling & problem solving skills
- Ability to maintain good public relations
- Valid driver’s license & insurance, a good driving record & reliable transportation
