Job Description
GENERAL STATEMENT OF FUNCTION:
The incumbent will report directly to the Dean of Student Services and Enrollment Management in matters pertaining to student activities. Incumbent will plan, direct, coordinate and implement a student activities program for the Harrison County Campus. Incumbent will serve as advisor to the Student Council and Reflections Team. Incumbent will work with campus club/organization sponsors as well as student activities personnel on other campuses of MGCCC. Incumbent will work as an academic advisor during the summer term, registrations, orientations, pre-registrations, late registrations and will provide academic advisement at other times of the year as determined by the Dean of Student Services and Enrollment Management.

Job Duties
1. Maintain a regular workweek as follows: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Work may be required beyond 5:00 p.m. on some weekdays and on weekends in order to fulfill job responsibilities.
2. Serve as advisor to the Student Council and coordinate/supervise all Student Council campus activities and tri-campus activities.
3. Serve as advisor to the Reflections Team and coordinate/supervise all Reflections activities such as Focus Fridays, recruitment activities, orientation/registration etc.
4. Coordinate social, educational, and community service programming for the campus by utilizing the Student Council and Reflections Team as well as other appropriate campus clubs/organizations and community resources.
5. Represent the college in activities at local high schools and with community
groups and organizations.
6. Assist with the planning and coordination of Bulldog Day and other activities/tours for prospective students.
7. Work with campus club/organization sponsors.
8. Maintain a_ campus calendar for all campus student activities.
9. Assist in the campus Assessment Center by serving as a back-up proctor when needed.
10. Provide advisement to prospective students and parents.
11. Assist with student advisement in orientations, pre-registrations, registrations, and late registrations.
12. Assist with campus recruitment and retention efforts.
13. Assist with graduation activities.
14. Serve on campus and college committees as appointed.
15. Attend appropriate conferences, workshops and seminars to facilitate professional growth and development.
16. Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Student Services and Enrollment Management.

Mandatory Qualifications
(M1) Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning in education, recreation, or related area. (M2) Successful experience working with student groups and organizations. (M3) Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. (M4) Experience in the use of computers including e-mail and internet.

Desirable Qualifications
(D1) Master’s Degree in education or a related area. (D2) Experience advising students at the college level.
