Coordinator (Family Reunification)


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • Supervise Fingerprint Specialist, Youth & Family Reunification Caseworkers, and other program staff
  • Coordinate and lead Safe Release Services and Home Safety/Post Release Services programming
  • Complete fingerprint appointments to maintain program compliance when SRS Fingerprint Specialist is out of office
  • Identify and build relationships with local medical/mental health/education/legal/other social service resources to assist with social support for sponsor and minor
  • Maintain regular and open communication with funders regarding program implementation
  • Ensure case notes, data entry, and filing are in compliance with funder requirements at all times through regular audits and staff training
  • Coordinate program monitoring visits conducted by funders
  • Complete all necessary HHS/ACF/ORR background checks
  • Comply with HHS Rules of Behavior for Use of HHS Information and Resources, ORR Policy and Procedures and program operations manuals
  • Maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA standards
  • Occasional driving in personal and/or agency vehicle to satellite offices, job fairs, off-site meetings in surrounding counties
  • Support Assistant Director with administrative tasks as assigned to meet department needs such as maintaining inventory, speaking to community supporters, or staffing the front office
  • All other duties assigned by the Assistant Director

The Family Reunification Coordinator supervises all programs related to the family reunification of minors who have been apprehended at the border. These programs include fingerprint services for potential U.S.-based sponsors as part of the Office of Refugee Resettlement background check for release of a minor into sponsor’s care. The Coordinator also oversees case management and home assessment to ensure a safe home environment for the minor while they await due process. In addition, the Family Reunification Coordinator will aid the Assistant Director in providing administrative support for the Migration and Refugee Services department as a whole.

Fluency in English and Spanish required

Salary - $44,000 yearly

PAID HOLIDAYS - Martin Luther King Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day & the Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, the week prior to New Year's and New Year's Day.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Undergraduate degree

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience, including work with immigrant populations

ADDITIONAL QUALITIES:

  • Must possess reliable personal vehicle and be willing to use personal vehicle transporting clients to various locations within the service area if an agency vehicle is not available.
  • Be able to set boundaries with clients and be professional and compassionate.
  • If English is the second language, the person must have acceptable proficiency in listening and reading comprehension as well as oral and written communication in English.
  • Flexible schedule to meet work, program and project deadlines including nights and weekends.
  • Must be people oriented and relate to a varied ethnic populations.
  • Experience and commitment to working in a diverse environment.
  • Ability to work independently, establish priorities and exercise sound judgment to complex, sensitive and confidential situations
