Maple Crest Health Center, a part of American Baptist Homes of the Midwest is hiring for full-time and part-time Cook. The full-time Cook schedule is from 4:30am-1pm. The part-time Cook schedule is every-other weekend -Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 4:30am-1pm.

What We Need From You

As a Cook, you will help create high-quality meals and an exceptional dining experience by assisting with meal preparation (preparing and serving attractive, and nutritious meals) to the residents, families and staff. You will also assist with food preparation of meals for meetings and special events, ensure cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and kitchen work area, and assist in inventory and storage food and supplies. You feel great knowing you do meaningful work helping residents and their families!

• Minimum 2 years food preparation as a Cook required for the Cook position.; nursing home or hospital experience is a plus. Pastry or baking experience preferred. Culinary degree preferred.
• Must have general knowledge of recipes, special diets and kitchen ordering process.
• Must have knowledge of state and federal food-handling regulations (ServSafe certification) preferred .
• Ability to demonstrate positive attitude, patience, emotional maturity to effectively communicate and interact with residents, families and co-workers.
• Must comply with CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid) directive which requires proof of full Covid 19 vaccination prior to start date or request an exemption (medical or religious) and if approved, wear proper PPE while on duty as per policy.
