Controls Engineer
80K to 90K - Bluffton IN - 1st shift
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
· Solid understanding of programming methods such as Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC programming.
· Responsible for Interface programming.
· Solid knowledge of drive controls such as ABB, Allen Bradley, Indramat and Emerson.
· Knowledge of older drive controls with IMC120 and the older 1395 drives.
· Ability to troubleshoot and program older drive controls with IMC120 and the older 1395 drives.
· Understanding of hydraulic systems.
· Understanding of the national electric code.
· Knowledge and understanding of mechanical stamping presses.
· Maintaining and troubleshooting automated equipment in a progressive environment.
· Analyzing plant processes and suggesting improvements
· Identifying and troubleshooting issues with the processes and hardware devices
· Developing and implementing preventative maintenance checks
· Ensuring that the quality, safety, and industry standards are adhered to
· Coordinating with the Process Engineer to implement various solutions
· Providing technical assistance as and when required
· Documenting and maintaining a record of the control processes
· Designing systems to automate various processes
· Scheduling system maintenance and repairs
· Providing necessary support to plant operations
· Conducting and handling prestart up equipment walks
· Providing training to team members in control and monitoring systems
· Responsible for assisting maintenance with electrical and/or PLC work.
· Responsible for compiling electrical and PLC training for our maintenance staff
· Assist with automation integration
· Familiarity with Inventor and AutoCAD software
· Support Vice President of Operations on special projects.
· Responsible for adhering to the company's quality policy and complying with all quality procedures related to the task and essential job functions described in this position.
· Responsible for identifying and reporting all observed non-conformances to the quality system.
· Responsible for appropriate corrective actions and for initiating or suggesting preventive action wherever related to the scope of this job description.
· Responsible for following all company safety policies and adhering to IOSHA and other government agency regulations.
· Employee is responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work environment associated directly with this position description and cooperate in maintaining the housekeeping of the company's common areas.
· Observes and complies with all company, federal and state safety and environmental policies and practices.
· Ability to read and create electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
· Develops strong working knowledge of all relevant quality policies, procedures, and work instructions associated with the successful performance on this job.
· Aids supervisor in identifying training needs. Attends and participates in all scheduled training and education programs identified for this position.
· Stop production at any work center, as necessary, if safety is being jeopardized, or to correct quality problems. Any work stoppage must be reported immediately to production shift supervisor, and quality problems to inspection or Quality Manager.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
