Job Summary:
Responsible for the Company’s overall financial reporting, accounting policies and procedures, internal controls, safeguarding the company’s assets, and planning and forecasting to ensure, timely, relevant, and accurate financial information. Directs or coordinates the general accounting, audit, budgeting, cost, pricing, IT, tax, treasury, general insurance, and legal activities for the business. Participates with other members of senior management in developing strategies to assure the company’s continued growth and profitability with specific emphasis on cost control, maximum utilization of the company’s assets and assuring financial resources are available to meet the future growth and development needs of the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily Financial Transaction Management
- Develop and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk
- Development of adequate reporting tools to effectively evaluate, monitor and report the financial results of the company.
- Highlight major trends, problems, and opportunities for other members of the management team.
- Develop and maintain the balance sheet and income statement for the business.
- Responsible for the general management of cash flow and credit, receivables, and payables.
- Establishes and administers a tax administration function specifically related to Sales and Use tax return preparation.
- Responsible for the administrative budgeting and forecasting functions which includes establishing budgeting procedures and guidelines, gathering, evaluating, and presenting information and monitoring performance.
- Provides analytical support to the management team in the areas of pricing, margins, and competitive advantage
- Oversee the production and report timely monthly and quarterly financial reports to management, Pella Corporation, the bank, and additional interested parties as necessary
- Ensure that the reported results are submitted timely and comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Recommend benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance
- Provide financial analysis and metrics on monthly financials so management can make decisions regarding capital investments, pricing decisions, and other financially related decisions
- Work with external auditors and provide needed information for the annual financials, workers compensation insurance, sales tax audits, and general liability insurance audits
Analysis and Management of Various Business Costs
- Is the champion of productivity improvement in the organization. Continually assesses system costs and looks for price reduction opportunities.
- Responsible for measurement and improvement of returns, allowances, cancellations, back charges, and shortages
- Develops and maintains contribution margin analyses by market segment.
- Monitors and improves internal costing systems.
- Responsible for accurately reflecting inventory balances, resulting in accurate cost of sales calculations monthly.
- Develops and maintains costing techniques which analyze and allocate material, production and/or overhead costs.
General Management and Organizational Development
- Coordinates communication and integration between Financial, Administrative and IT team and other departments.
- Acts as a point of contact for and cooperating with financial requests from Pella Corporation.
- Confers with other Managers to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Fosters integration throughout the entire organization
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from a four-year university
- Seven to ten years or more of related experience required
- Certified Public Accountant preferred
Computer Skills:
- Microsoft Dynamics GP experience preferred
- Must be proficient with Microsoft suite
- Ability to learn and utilize proprietary Pella software programs and applications and other business critical applications
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
