Summary:

The Controller is responsible for the day to day activities of the Bank’s general accounting system and financial information reporting, including internal, external and regulatory reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Manages the Bank’s accounting staff and provides overall management for all departmental activities and functions.

· Provide leadership, training, coaching, mentoring, and regular feedback as needed to foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.

· Responsible for the recording of the Bank’s financial transactions, the preparation and interpretation of financial reports and statements for the Board of Directors, internal management, and outside groups, including regulatory reporting.

· Ensure that reports conform to GAAP with proper disclosure requirements. Stay abreast of new accounting rules and make appropriate changes in policies and procedures.

· Assist senior management with the financial information needed for major facilities renovations and new bank products.

· Assists with the preparation of the annual budget based on the financial objectives of the Bank.

· Prepare reports, which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position, in areas of income, expenses and earnings based on past, present and expected operations.

· Manage the Bank’s cash flow. Track and monitor the bank’s liquidity position.

· Direct the preparation of liquidity forecast and other financial information and reports for utilization by Senior Management.

· Perform analysis of capital expenditures before projects commence to determine the cost of the project. Direct determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets.

· Works with Audit Committee to provide requested documentation for audits.

· Develop, evaluate, manage, and improve processes used in the Accounting department for the work to be produced efficiently and of high quality to meet or exceed the Bank standard.

· Ability to work collaboratively with a team by interacting with other departments in a positive manner, and representing as a client liaison with internal departments.

· Demonstrates the ability to represent the Bank in a professional manner, through proper attire, effective communication, and a team oriented and willing attitude to go above and beyond.

· Fulfill responsibilities under the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering regulations. This may include identifying customers properly, initiating CTRs and SARs investigations as needed, utilizing OFAC records and maintaining appropriate records.

· Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and all Federal and State laws and regulations.

· Additional duties that may be assigned.

· Interest Rate Risk: Knowledge of Interest Rate Risk analysis model plus forecasting and budget model integrated with the Core Data system for senior management and board of director information.

· Bond Accounting: Knowledge of bond accounting activity and monthly entries.

· Regulatory Matters: Experience working with and communicating with various Bank Examiners for the periodic examinations.

· Call Reporting: Experience with the preparation and filing of the quarterly Call Report and other periodic regulatory reports as required.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

· A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, related discipline or experience commensurate with the position. The position requires three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in Accounting.

· Managerial or supervisory experience is preferred.

· Advanced skills with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook preferred.

BANK SECRECY ACT:

In the performance of respective tasks and duties, the employee is expected to maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with Bank Secrecy Act regulations and all other regulatory, security and bank policies.

In the performance of respective tasks and duties, the employee is expected to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
