Continuous Improvement Manager
PPG Industries
Grand Prairie, TX
As the Continuous Improvement Manager, you will drive lean six sigma methodologies, manufacturing initiatives, and process improvements throughout the facility. Initiatives are coordinated through close work with the Operations Leadership Team and other managers to develop and integrate lean six sigma plans with other productivity enhancing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop resources with the use of lean sigma tools and methodology, and train staff at different levels of complexity such as Shop floor and office staff at White/Yellow Belt level and provide coaching for more advanced Green/Black Belt level.
- Provide guidance and assistance to all site leadership in the use of strategy deployment tools and techniques to align goals in the business.
- Support the business to identify projects and other continuous improvement goals to lead to customer satisfaction and tangible business improvement.
- Implement and embed the AeroLean Production System standards with the specific focus on 5S, Leader and Operator Standard Work, VSMs, Poke Yoke, Kanban and pull systems.
- Coach site management, first line leaders and operational staff to apply kaizen and point Kaizen improvement techniques within their daily activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline with 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing operations.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of Toyota Production System, preferred.
- Experience managing Operations Excellence initiative across multiple cell site.
- Must have demonstrated experience leading step change, breakthrough projects (using DMAIC and Lean methods) with business improvement in production and functional / transactional environments.
- Must have experience delivering Lean Sigma training courses for white and yellow belts.
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
