Job description
Concrete Jungle creates sustainable solutions to food waste and food insecurity through resourceful food recovery. Each week, volunteers harvest from local farms and urban fruit trees, and recover unused food from grocery stores and farmers markets to provide fresh produce to food pantries and soup kitchens in the Athens, GA area. The Concrete Jungle Summer Associate will collaborate with other Summer Associates on food-security summer programming as part of the University of Georgia's AmeriCorps Network.

Member Duties : The Concrete Jungle Summer Associate will support all aspects of the organization’s summer operations combating food waste and food insecurity in the Athens area. This includes managing farmers market volunteers and produce collection, leading fruit picks and farm workdays, delivering fresh produce to receiving agencies, and managing the social media and newsletter. The Summer Associate will also collaborate with other local organizations and AmeriCorps members, including UGArden, Campus Kitchen, Athens Community Council on Aging, Abundance Athens, etc.
