Job Description – Concrete Crew Lead

Title: Concrete Crew Lead

Reports To: Concrete Division Manager

Job Goal: Client Satisfaction:The Concrete Crew Lead leads and supervises all concrete crew, unskilled and semi-skilled workers, and subcontractors involved in a construction project. The Concrete Crew Lead ensures that construction projects are on budget and completed on schedule.

Broad Scope of Work

  • Supervise concrete crew, unskilled and semi-skilled workers, and subcontractors.
  • Communicate with Concrete Division Manager any issues that would impede quality, time or budget with project.

Detailed Job Responsibilities

  • Host weekly project update and safety meetings.
  • Make certain all subordinates have and wear proper personal protective equipment accordingly.
  • Calculate the amount of labor, time, materials, tools & equipment needed for each project on an as needed basis.
  • Work with Concrete Division Manager to create and adjust project schedules.
  • Assign and explain tasks to the concrete crew.
  • Order all construction materials needed for projects in a timely manner.
  • Pay attention to details ensuring that all projects meet quality standards, specifications and deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs of all work done by the project team.
  • Provide regular project updates to the Concrete Division Manager.
  • Assure compliance with quality standards and construction codes.
  • Perform all concrete duties required including both rough and finish.

Required Skills

  • Relevant concrete estimating experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with skid steer, power trowel, excavator, concrete buggy.
  • Possess trade specific code knowledge.
  • Ability to lead, manage and hold employees accountable to schedules and performance standards.
  • Ability to consistently communicate between field and office via email, text and mobile devices.
  • Ability to clearly and respectfully communicate with clients, subcontractors, vendors and colleagues.
  • Effective at solving problems in a manner that balances client needs, current schedules and awareness of financial impact.
  • Ability to work independently, accurately representing the values and goals of the company.
  • The ability to safely and efficiently operate power tools and equipment and able to train others to do the same.
  • The ability to read blueprints.
  • Proven experience in concrete processes.
  • Sound knowledge of safety standards and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills; verbal and written.
  • Well-organized with multi-tasking abilities.

Education/Experience:

  • Working knowledge of and ability to use MS Office products; Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must have, and maintain, appropriate equipment operator’s licenses.
  • Must have, and maintain, CPR certification.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of concrete finishing experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • ACI certification a plus.
  • MIOSHA Training a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour

  • Supervising: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Concrete finishing: 5 years (Preferred)
