Ascent Resources is seeking an experienced Compression Tech I. This position will be located at the St. Clairsville, OH area and will report to the Compression Foreman. The Compression Tech I will be a liaison between Production, Facilities, Engineering and Compression Vendors. They will establish a clear line of communication with all departments for PM’s, engine downtime, engine repairs, site inspections, engine emissions testing, written procedures, and winterization. They will be expected to be a self performer and handle most routine problems independently. They will establish a high level of ownership towards all work in their assigned Compression area. The individual will prepare, maintain and submit daily reports and records of gas compression units. The individual will maintain in accordance with Ascent’s standard operating procedures and the company’s best management practices.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support the design, construction and commissioning of current and future wellhead compression units
  • Provide guidance and support during installation, commissioning and start-up of new units
  • Gather data to help determine engine/compressor failures and downtime
  • Provide guidance to help develop standards and guidelines around engine operation
  • Perform inspections on vendor compression units to drive vendor accountability
o Housekeeping, Downtime logs, PM’s schedules and scope
  • Submit daily/weekly/monthly reports to Compression Foreman
  • Read and interpret Ariel Performance Runs provided by vendors
  • Analyze and provide feedback to improve winterization of compression sites
  • Track and record engine data for daily/monthly/yearly compression report
  • Interpret and manage vendor adherence to contract requirements
  • Verify Vendors are performing compression skid inspections on a frequency
  • Verify vendors are performing PM’s per manufactures recommendations
  • Ability to learn and become proficient with manufactures equipment such as Engines, Compressors, Coalescers, Separators, fuel skids and other associated equipment through training via OJT, online, manuals and in person factory trainings
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times
  • Provide direction and training to Lease operators and technicians
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Minimum Requirements:
  • Ability to work with computers and learn new programs
  • Working Knowledge of upstream and midstream oil and gas production equipment
  • Working knowledge of the mechanics of and engine and compressor skids
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Demonstrate analytical skills with the ability to make corrective recommendations
  • Able to understand process flow and plumbing
  • Ability to identify potential hazards in field and provide a remediation
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and accept ownership
  • Pay attention to detail

Education & Work Experience Required
Minimum Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience working in an Oil and Gas Production position or education equivalent
  • High school education
  • Ability to look overhead and down
  • Ability to assemble/disassemble parts with both hands
Preferred Requirements:
  • Ariel Compression basics training
  • Engine training (CAT, GM, Cummins, EDI and KTA)
  • College degree: Associates or higher in engineering, industrial technology or operations
