Core Responsibilities:
As the Division’s only Comprehensive Health Planner I, you will be actively engaged in data management and analysis, communicating with diverse stakeholders, and representing the Division on both local and regional levels.
You will act as the State Training Coordinator and the liaison with the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (“CMS”) regarding training concerns, logistics, etc. for all the surveyors in the Division. You will be the Division’s lead for the federal database known as the Quality Improvement and Evaluation Systems Coordinator for the Acute and Long-Term Care programs, and for the State’s Agency Licensing Management System database. You will work collaboratively with DLC management and vendors related to database improvement and development.
You will work with the manager of the Certified Nursing Assistant (“CNA”) unit to assist with CNA database needs as and work with other managers to ensure that data activities are sufficient to meet State and federal performance standards.
You will work with the Division’s Compliance Analyst and assist in analyzing laws, rules, and policies relating to the health programs overseen by the Division. You will, in conjunction with Division management, monitor our programs’ data to ensure that all our programs are meeting established performance metrics. You will produce monthly reports, which you will present to Division management, and will research anomalies in the data as identified by Division management.
You will also:
- be responsible for ensuring DLC surveyors are able to access applicable federal training programs.
- maintain the training Curriculum Map for long term care and acute care surveyors, as well as the CMS Training Schedule and Course Catalog, to identify training requirements for all CMS certified programs, and to ensure that optimal training support is provided to each surveyor.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Public/Community Health, Health Administration, Health Sciences or Health Education; Public Administration, Government, Social Work, or a closely-related field and two (2) years’ professional experience in the planning, development, coordination and/or evaluation of health programs or services -OR- an equivalent six (6)-year combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred candidates will also have:
- Experience as a training coordinator;
- Experience researching statutes and rules;
- Experience entering and retrieving information from databases (ASPEN & ALMS, especially);
- Excellent written communication skills;
- Demonstrated experience using critical thinking;
- Demonstrated ability to ability to meet deadlines;
- Demonstrated excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills;
- Experience using databases and Windows products; and
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
