Job Description
- Ensures engineering data and documents meet the FAA and ODA requirements to support the changes approved in the certification and major alteration project files .
- Ensures realistic budgets, schedules, and performance standards are aligned with the business unit and site performance goals and objectives .
- Managers site ODA department direct and indirect staffing and makes decisions regarding performance appraisals, counseling, and training of employees .
- Establish opportunities to ensure engineering data and document compliance is substantiated and coordinate new opportunities with the Director of ODA Programs and/or the Director of ODA Enterprise Management .
- Build positive inter-organizational working relationships that improve performance to meet certification and engineering objectives .
- Interface with site certification and project engineering to develop appropriate certification plans, compliance checklists, drawing lists and all other certification related documentation necessary for issuance of ODA certification approvals of assigned projects .
- Work with site leadership to ensure Engineering and Inspection Airworthiness Representatives are current and are suitable for project work scope .
- Establish the engineering data requirements for conformity under the correct applied certification methods .
- Provide guidance/support to Gulfstream Engineering and Quality on completion certification issues .
- Conducts technical briefings for senior level management on certification engineering initiatives that support ODA and FAA requirements .
- An ODA Engineering Manager shall be capable of obtaining approval authorities delegated by the FAA. .
- Successfully create and manage specific design approval programs in adherence to all Gulfstream ODA approved process and procedures, including coordinating ODA AR activities, resolving project related issues and development of project plans with Gulfstream engineering management and staff to meet aircraft delivery schedules .
- Act under the Director of ODA Programs and/or the Director of ODA Enterprise Management for management of assigned projects .
- Knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations (14 CFR) and experience at making compliance findings.
- Demonstrated experience with processes for major design changes (TC/STC) and Major Alterations.
