Job description:
Our client in the Caledonia area is looking for companionship. He is a young man in his early thirties who has Autism. He enjoys watching airplanes and movies in his room. At least initially, all hours will be spent inside the family’s home. The ideal candidate understands Autism and exhibits genuine concern for others, patience, and sound decision-making. Responsibilities include: companionship, light housekeeping, personal care needs (specifically eating, dressing, and incontinence care), and implementing a simple behavior intervention plan during occasional times of minor to moderate physical aggression. The pay is $15.00 per hour. Working hours can be somewhat flexible, but the general time frame would be approximately 5-9pm two or three days per week (probably Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday). And, the family would like to have a caregiver work some Saturday afternoons or Sunday mornings. Again, the hours are flexible, as long as they are planned ahead of time.
