POSITION DESCRIPTION
The 211 Community Impact Manager reports directly to the Director of 2-1-1 and works in collaboration with the Director to implement resource outreach and maintenance of two databases for 211 Sonoma and 211 Mendocino. 211 Sonoma and Mendocino connect with more than 25,000 callers and texters a year with a large variety of human and social services referrals, program information, application assistance, and disaster resources. We are looking for a dedicated team player to compile and maintain the resource information housed in the 211 database that is provided to callers 24/7. The 211 Resource and Outreach Manager is especially engaged in community/agency outreach, awareness building, and updating and maintaining the
211 databases of resources.
The incumbent will manage 211database systems, research available social and human services, and have communication with participating agency partners. The incumbent will also participate in a wide range of activities to raise awareness among potential agency partners and engage and expand knowledge of 211 through Sonoma and Mendocino region.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Fluency in Spanish – preferred but not required
- Experience in project management
- Good writing skill
- Essential data entry skills
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are representative of the responsibilities of this position. These assignments may change as the needs and priorities of the organization evolve.
The 211 Community Impact Manager will support the growth and development of our 211 services by:
- Review and flag community resource information within the 211 Sonoma and Mendocino databases that need updating.
- Interact with government and nonprofit organizations through phone and email contact to research new community resources and update current services and programs in the 211 databases.
- Track communities’ most frequently met and unmet needs in the 211 Sonoma and
Mendocino database systems.
- Conduct monthly office hours to assist agency partners with 211 resources updating.
- Coordinate and conduct outreach events like tabling at community events.
REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Resource and Outreach Manager, the minimum qualifications are:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of relevant administrative and programmatic experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Mastery of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Capable of handling multiple projects with competing priorities.
- Ability to meet deadlines while anticipating quickly changing needs.
- Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.
- Enjoys face to face interactions with volunteers.
- Highly-organized, high energy, results-oriented and a self-starter with little need for supervision required. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, data assessment, planning and problem-solving skills, research skills, flexibility and ability to follow through promptly.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Understands how relationships and collaborations with colleagues and partners who represent diverse perspectives advance the mission of United Way. Validates the inequities in our society and the role philanthropy can play to close the gap.
- Preference will be given to those who have lived or worked in Sonoma County and can demonstrate familiarity with the people, issues, and the organizations UWWC seeks to serve.
- Understanding the power dynamics of this role and responds appropriately to inquiries regarding United Way’s community impact work, grant management, and grantmaking.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, a professional, tactful demeanor, a good humor, and capacity to represent the organization in a positive manner at all times.
- High level of dependability as demonstrated by a high capacity to achieve results while working independently, following instructions, offering feedback and critical thinking,
responding to management direction, and soliciting guidance to continuously improve personal, team and organizational performance.
- Ability to operate office equipment, including computers, copiers, printers, fax machines and scanners. Must have ability to perform work that requires sitting, walking, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Must be available for occasional evening and weekend hours
COMPENSATION
This is a full-time, non-exempt position working 37.5 hours per week, with an hourly rate of $23.00-$25.00. Compensation offer will be dependent on experience.
UWWC provides 10 days paid time off days for vacation and sick leave to start, which increases over time, 11 paid holidays, 4 personal holidays, and a flexible schedule.

WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT
This position operates 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, in a virtual home office or at the United Way corporate office in Santa Rosa, California, with local in-person meetings and occasional travel. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, including laptop computer and cell phone. The employee is generally required to spend long periods of time sitting, typing, and working at a computer. Accommodations will be made based on ability and accessibility.
