Role:

The Communications Coordinator works within the marketing department to develop and deliver creative and succinct messaging for web, print, email, social media, marketing projects, and other deliverables to achieve organizational goals. This position will contribute to the strategic vision as the brand voice across all channels by delivering concise and effective content with a keen editorial eye. This position will work on or touch every communication that marketing produces and delivers.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

25% Develops concepts and content for a wide variety of projects, including webpage copy, print and digital materials, social media, email marketing, articles, scripts, video, and other marketing collateral and campaigns.

25% Identifies and sets project goals, collaborates with creative team to develop the project from inception to deployment within timeline parameters. Reviews the final work to ensure it is accurate and within brand guidelines.

20% Manages social media schedule and content. Ensures posts are timely, relevant, effective, and accurate. Works with creative team to source images and video as needed. Able to produce and post social media using design templates. Assist with scheduling and updating previously published emails.

15% Stay up to date on relevant trends that influence our industry, target audiences and personas. Ensure our communication strategies are hitting the mark; make adjustments as necessary.

10% Reviews, proofreads, and edits completed work by others on the marketing team.

5% Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

Meet or exceed the credit union's planned market share, assets, loans, and other product/serviceobjectives as stated in the business plan.

Accomplish all assigned projects in accordance with applicable credit union policy and proceduresas well as any state and federal rules and regulations, keeping management informed of any problematic areas.

Ensure all marketing initiatives and communications are accurate, timely and within brand guidelines.

Reinforce company culture, providing, accurate service and support to all members and associates.

Analyzing large amounts of information and distill key points.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience

Three years to five years of similar or related experience.

Education

A bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing or Communications

Interpersonal Skills

Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict

resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Other Skills

Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an eye for detail, language, flow and grammar.

Proven knowledge of communications and marketing ethics and best practices.

Requires creativity and a proven ability to demonstrate brand voice.

Able to work on multiple projects with different objectives simultaneously.

Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

Requires a high level of problem solving capabilities as well as curiosity, self-motivation and adaptability.

Able to incorporate search engine strategies (SEO) in writing to maximize website visibility in search results.

Requires strong work ethics and the ability to work with a fast-paced team.

Ability to work independently with little supervision.

Requires excellent time management skills and the ability to schedule work activities so deadlines are met and goals are accomplished in a timely and organized manner.

Requires the ability to build strong relationships both inside and outside the credit union.

Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience managing social media is preferred.

Must be passionate about personal growth and learning.
