Lawrenceville Surgery Center is a single-specialty ambulatory orthopedic surgery practice committed to the highest clinical and customer service standards in the industry. We are currently seeking an experienced Collections/Insurance Verifier to join our clinical team in a PRN capacity. We make no commitment to available hours or benefits. This role is ideal for someone who is seeking a flexible schedule or to complement their full time job.

Job Summary:
The Collections/Insurance Verification Clerk is responsible for validating and entering patient information and insurance coverage into the appropriate computer system.

Duties may also include communicating with physician offices, insurance carriers, and patient follow-ups.

Efficient collection efforts to significantly reduce days outstanding, improve cash flow, and minimize bad debt expense.

This is a fast paced environment committed to producing the highest quality work for our surgery center. An ideal candidate will be personable and courteous.

Required Skills:
USPI complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce. If you are offered this position and must be vaccinated under any applicable law, you will be required to show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approval of a religious or medical exemption prior to your start date. If you receive an exemption from the vaccination requirement, you will be required to submit to regular testing in accordance with the law.

Required Experience:
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
3-4 years previous collections/Insurance Verification experience, with emphasis on healthcare insurance collections of all types. Preference shown to previous experience in an ambulatory surgical setting.
Medical terminology.
Prefer previous experience working with Advantx. (Patient Accounting System)
Ability to work independently.
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Skilled in time management and prioritization of emergent situations.
Good customer service skills, always demonstrates professionalism.
Comfortable utilizing critical thinking skills.
Typing 45-60 WPM.
High School Diploma or equivalency.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
Experience with electronic patient information systems.
