Position Overview: The operator will be responsible for operating the collator machine to accurately collate printed sheet materials into sets according to collation sheet instructions and/or input collation program via data transfer. The operator will safely perform position specific responsibilities to ensure a high level of productivity, quality and internal and external customer service while adhering to all relevant company policies and procedures. The operator will also identify and recommend process improvements to streamline and increase efficiency of existing programs. Pay is $18 - $25 / hr depending on experience.

• The Set-up, operation, and maintenance of the collating machine.
• Unload collated loads of material with a hand truck and replace with empty pallet and resume collating.
• Breakdown/separate and prepare next job’s printed materials in advance while machine is in operation.
• Inspect set collation / sheet count to ensure correct collation count and packaging accuracy.
• Collator operators are required to reach certain expected and attainable amounts per shift per department needs.
• Collation programs should be carefully examined to ensure an efficient program has been selected and loaded into the computer.
• Set-up and maintain machine and mechanical functions (gripper adjustments, different sheet size set-up adjustments and selective custom collation programs)

Required Qualifications:

• Previous Finishing Operator experience including the ability to set up and operate Poly Wrapper equipment preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, including good verbal and written comprehension is required. The ability to perform basic math calculations is essential.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Providing oversight, direction and training to general workers or temporary staff members assigned to assist in the collating area.
• Basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Receive and follow instructions and use vision in order to identify defects.
• Perform other kit packing and related functions as needs arise.
