Essential Functions:

  • Leads CNC team to ensure production planning and scheduling activities are accomplished in a timely, safe, and efficient manner; communicates progress and issues to management.
  • Prioritizes work projects and tasks. Assigns work to CNC Operators. Trains and provides direction to CNC Operators.
  • Manages Material Management sheet on Smartsheet to ensure information is correct and current.
  • Maintains collaborative relationships with team members, stepping in when needed to complete projects.
  • Monitors production results and notifies supervisor when workflow needs to be modified to ensure deadlines and established guidelines are met.
  • Monitors team to ensure customer satisfaction and quality of work; relays any discrepancies and/or delays to supervisor.
  • Ensures all designated tool paths work properly to ensure efficient and seamless production workflow, relays issues to management.
  • Maintains an organized worksite. Ensures CNC operators have the correct tools and supplies to perform the assigned project/tasks.
  • Promotes and maintains a safe work environment by ensuring the team adheres to all safety protocols, follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and wears protective equipment as required.
  • Conducts equipment checks. Coordinates with appropriate parties to repair damaged equipment.
  • Tracks and records daily sheet cut counts for CNC machines. Keeps information up to date on smart sheet.
  • Closes out shop and ensures cleanliness, safety, and all machines/doors are secured.
  • Studies work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and machining parameters to produce parts. Interprets geometric dimensions and tolerances.
  • Verifies machine settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample work pieces.
  • Operates various woodshop machinery including but not limited to panels saws, table saws, chop saws, band saws, pocket cutters, grass hinge machines, mepla line bore machines, drill presses, and routers.
  • Loads and unloads materials.
  • Documents and communicates actions, irregularities, and continuing needs related to CNC machine and shop.
  • Labels parts coming off the CNC machine.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in cabinetry and/or millwork CNC operations.
  • Previous leadership experience, a plus.
